History

1911 Rikimatsu Kubo, founder, opens a shop of kumihimo(A Japanese form of braid-making) cord of kimono accessories(fawn spot tie-dyeing) in Bakuro-cho, Tokyo, and steadily develops its activities.

The companyfs first bonds

1921 Opens a Kyoto Branch in Gojo-agaru, Odawara-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto-shi.
1935 Rinsaburo Kubo succeeds to brotherf business.
1936 Establishes Kuboriki Co., Ltd. with a capital of 300,000 yen.
1945 Resumes activities after an interruption during the war.
1955 Establishes anew Kuboriki Co., Ltd. with a capital of 3 million yen. Keitaro Kubo, founderfs son, assumes the 3rd presidency.
1959 The head office moves to Anekoji-agaru, Higashinotouin-dori, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto.
1963 Tokyo Branch building is completed.
1969 Increases the capital to the current 62 million yen.
1971 Changes the company name to Kuboriki Lace Co., Ltd.
1973 Junzo Kubo, founderfs nephew, assumes the 4th presidency.
1974 Starts selling lace through sample books.
1989 Opens a distribution center in Moriyama, Shiga.
1992 Kaoru Kubo,founderfs nephew, assumes the 5th presidency Starts ECO activities to address environmental issues
1998 Takahide Kubo, son of Kaoru Kubo, assumes the 6th presidency.
2001 The head office moves to Moriyama, Shiga.
